Why we built this
Walk into any Harvey Norman on a Saturday morning and you'll find dozens of fridges lined up, all covered in stickers. “SpaceMax Technology.” “Linear Cooling Plus.” “DoorCooling+.” “FrostFree ActiveSmart.” None of them mean anything unless you already know what they mean. If comparison is hard, you buy the one the salesperson recommends.
We built clearer options because we couldn't find a site that actually did the hard work. Most comparison sites just republish manufacturer specs - the same jargon, the same unverifiable claims, the same inability to tell whether a “4-star energy rating” on a 300L fridge is comparable to a “4-star energy rating” on a 600L fridge (it isn't). We wanted a site that translated everything into terms that let you make a fair comparison.
We translate brand jargon into standard terms, so a renamed feature can't pass itself off as a different one. It's painstaking work - but it's what makes genuine apples-to-apples comparison possible. That's the entire bet we've made: that if we do that work well, Australians will trust us, and that trust is worth more than any sponsored placement.

We translate every manufacturer-specific term into standardised plain language so you can compare across brands. “MyZone”, “SwitchZone” and “FlexiFreeze” are three names for one thing - a drawer you can switch between fridge and freezer - and our dictionary records all fifteen of them against one field.

No ads, no sponsored rankings, no paid placements. The site is built to run on affiliate commissions when you buy through our links - and it doesn't affect what we recommend or how we rank products.
