Types of dishwasher
Which style is right for your home and household?
Freestanding
Renters, easy installation, most households
Rolls or slides into a gap in the kitchen. Can be moved when you move. Widest range of models and price points. The most popular type in Australia.
Fully integrated
New kitchens, renovations, concealed look
A custom panel matches your cabinetry so the dishwasher disappears. Controls are on the top edge of the door, hidden when closed. Higher installation cost but a seamless finish.
Slimline (45cm)
Small kitchens, couples, 1–2 person households
15cm narrower than a standard 60cm machine. Typically holds 9–10 place settings. Suits households that run the dishwasher every 1–2 days rather than daily.
Double drawer
Flexible households, small loads, eco-conscious users
Two independent drawers that each run a separate half-load. Run one drawer for a small load, both for a full household load. More expensive but reduces water and energy waste for smaller households.
